Lionel 2378 Milwaukee Road
The Lionel 2378 Milwaukee Road diesel locomotive was only made in 1956 and was available as an A-B pair. The color combination looks particularly good, especially when the red stripe decals are in excellent condition. Like many of the F3 locomotives Lionel was making at the time, the 2378 features two vertical motors, magnetraction, an operating horn and headlight as well as a magnetically controlled operating front coupler.
Made in 3 variations, the first variation or Type I is the most valuable and rare one. It can be easily identified by a thin yellow stripe that runs the length of both the A and B units of a pair on the side at the roof line. Only the Type I units have this strip on both A and B units.
